India's first task of the year will be a three-match series against Sri Lanka that will start on January 3. Before the teams go to Pune and Rajkot for the other matches, the series will begin at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. After the T20Is, a three-match ODI series will be played.
Since suffering a thumb injury in the second One-Day International during the Bangladesh tour, Rohit Sharma has not appeared for India. He will not play in these T20 Internationals, which will be captained by India's Hardik Pandya with Suryakumar Yadav filling in. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been rested, and Rishabh Pant has also been left out of India's T20I team.
